It was anything but pleasant.

The annual Marysville High School Track and Field Invitational was held Friday night in Marysville. Athletes were confronted with chilly temperatures throughout the event, but that did not slow down their respective times.

“It was a battle not only against really good teams in the area, but the weather,” Marysville track and field coach Steve Rogers said. “It was less than ideal. My hope for this meet is to get ready for the regional next week.

“I need my kids to rest up and stay healthy so that we can put our best foot forward come next Friday in Clio. I give our kids credit for hanging in there on such a night. It was rough.”

The St. Clair boys (93 points) and Port Huron Northern girls (142) were the big winners of the Navy Division, with the Yale boys (84) and girls (93) teams each winning the White Division titles.
