NORTHERN’S RECORD SETTING SEASON COMES TO AN END

Northern went down in defeat to Warren De La Salle on Friday night at Memorial Stadium, 50-0.
The Huskies still had a great season. Their 9-2 record is the most wins the program has had in decades.
Last week, Northern won its first playoff game since 1986.
“I will remember how this team came together and played together,” Roelens said. “No matter the circumstances we fought and battled. It was a lot of fun.”
The Huskies will lose several key players to graduation, including seniors Steven Mason and Noah McNutt. But Northern will also return quarterback Seth Klink and running back Theo Ellis, among others.
Even in defeat, the best is still to come for Northern, which had a breakthrough 2017 season despite playing several underclassmen in key positions.
“This shows to the kids what it is like to play this late in the season,” Roelens said. “No matter what, you keep working. Right after Thanksgiving, we are going to get back to work. We’re not done.”
