PH Unified Girls Hockey wins two over the weekend

Port Huron Unified Lady Prowlers Hockey finished up the weekend with two wins against Grosse Pointe South.

Saturday, February 11:  PHU  6, GPS 3

Sunday’s recap:

The Lady Prowlers fell behind 1-0 at just 1:24 into the game, but tied it up 1-1 just two minutes later when Lauren Kelly scored with Taylor Elsholz and Billie Schumacher assisting on the goal.

Lauren Kelly added another goal with just over one minute to go in the first period to take a 2-1 lead. Billie Schumacher added her second assist.

Outstanding goaltending by Prowlers goalie Victoria Loxton helped lead the way to a 3-1 lead in the second period.  Miranda Hudson and Madison O’Neill had the assists.

GPS fired one into the net in the second period to cut the lead to 3-2 with just over a minute to play in the second period.

Prowlers Makenna Fockler blasted a shot by the GPS goalie four minutes into the third period with Lauren Kelly assisting on the goal giving the Lady Prowlers a two goal lead 4-2.

Two minutes later the Prowlers struck again to take a 5-2 lead with Lauren Kelly completing her “hat trick” scoring her third goal of the game.  GPS added another goal halfway through the third period but that was as close as they could get.

The Lady Prowlers held on for a 5-3 victory in a great game!
